El-vices Cachés (Gide Loyrette Nouel)

Beware, this year there will be frogs on the stage of the 100 Club !

They’re French (some of them anyway) and they Rock the House. Don’t bother trying to figure out the name. Apparently it’s some kind of pun. You gotta be French to get it so it’s probably not funny.

Formed in 2006, El-Vices Cachés have performed in prestigious venues all around Europe - the Olympia in Paris and the Royal Courts of Justice London - but prefer the side walk in front of their favorite bar in Paris where they can plug in and get drinks for free until the Gendarmes move them on.

They rehearse, drink and smoke (not necessarily in that order) in their basement studio, courtesy of the firm (you get more pull (and strings) with partners in the band). Rumor has it the worker-bees above aren’t too enthusiastic about the racket coming up from the bowels of the building, but hey - their priorities are right!

As to what they play, things get a bit muggy. With 7 band members and as many styles, playlists are a source of hot debate. The band has split and reformed over artistic differences, triggered by rash statements such as “I will play country but not western” or irrelevant comments like “this song will sound great with the keyboard. Guys, we don’t have a keyboard”. The one thing they all love is LOUD.

"Howling Nick " Tse spoons out lead vocals and charisma.

Laura "Nina la Goth" Castex adds girl-power, real notes and even harmony!

Rupert "Keith" Reece knows three chords and growls.

Guillaume "Four fingers" Jeannet knows four chords and when to play them.

Gregoire "Jumping Jack" Lemiesle plays Bass with his tongue.

Nicolas "Blue Lou" Moreau swings it on Sax, faster than the human eye can see.

Jean-Hyacinthe "Animal" de Mitry keeps the show pumping - but the quiff never moves.

We’re not sure what they’ll be doing for Law Rocks, as it seems they have yet to reach an agreement on the list, and are currently each rehearsing their own list separately.

One thing is sure: watch out! El-vices Cachés are coming to London. The King is Back!
